Bus Accidents
The Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) operates the buses that carry passengers throughout San Fernando Valley and Los Angeles County. As a "common carrier," the law requires the MTA to act reasonably and protect passengers, pedestrians, and those in other vehicles while operating the bus system.
Unfortunately, bus accidents occur all too frequently. Bus drivers sometimes fail to operate the buses with the high degree of care required by law. Bus accidents can cause serious injuries to those involved, including whiplash, broken bones, cuts and bruises, and internal organ damage. If an MTA bus caused your injuries, you must file a claim with the MTA within the timeframe specified in the California Government Code.
